I Want to Be… Career Books – 9-Book I Can Read Set by Laura Driscoll

What does a doctor, pilot, farmer or engineer actually do? Laura Driscoll’s I Want to Be… books introduce young children to real jobs and community helpers through simple, child-friendly explanations designed for beginning readers.

Part of the My Community I Can Read series, these Level 1 books combine short sentences, familiar vocabulary and colourful illustrations by Catalina Echeverri. They work well both as independent first readers and as read-aloud introductions to careers, workplaces and the people children meet in their communities.
