Scaredy Cats by Audrey Wood

Scaredy Cats by Audrey Wood follows two little kittens who are thrilled to run an errand on their own — until their imaginations begin turning every step of the journey into something frightening.

Funny rather than frightening, this picture book opens up gentle conversations about imagination, courage and how worries can sometimes feel bigger than the real thing.

Great for: Halloween reading, children working through fears, cat lovers, story time and classroom discussions about confidence.

Recommended age: approximately 3–7 years.
