Step Into Reading Level 1 – 30-Book Early Reader Collection

A large 30-book Step Into Reading Level 1 collection for children beginning to read with growing independence. Level 1 readers are designed around simple vocabulary, short sentences, picture support and engaging topics, helping children practise decoding while experiencing the satisfaction of finishing whole books.

This set is particularly useful after a child has begun learning letter sounds and blending and is ready for repeated practice with short, meaningful texts. Because reading development varies widely, use the child’s ability—not age alone—to judge whether Level 1 is a comfortable fit.

Skills supported

• Sounding out and recognising familiar words.
• Reading short sentences with increasing fluency.
• Using pictures and context to support comprehension.
• Building reading stamina through short complete books.
• Developing confidence before progressing to longer early-reader texts.

Suggested stage: beginning reader / early independent reader, commonly around ages 4–7.

A practical home-library or classroom resource for families, teachers and homeschoolers looking for a broad range of first readers in one collection. Available from Kids Library Kenya with delivery across Kenya.
